Supporting The Retreat from Soil to Site

From understanding the ground beneath the site to supporting construction in the field, OWN provided comprehensive engineering services for The Retreat. This 186-unit multifamily development in Nixa, Missouri, includes nine apartment buildings, a clubhouse, parking, pedestrian amenities, and supporting infrastructure. 

OWN provided surveying, geotechnical engineering, and civil engineering services for the project. Our team completed boundary and topographic surveys, site due diligence, and a geotechnical investigation to evaluate soil and groundwater conditions, helping guide site preparation, foundation design, pavement recommendations, and earthwork strategies for the site’s expansive clay soils and karst geology.

Building on those findings, OWN developed the civil construction plans, including site layout, grading, parking and internal drives, accessible routes, stormwater management, utility design, erosion control, and landscaping. Throughout construction, our team continued to support the project through permitting coordination, plan revisions, responses to contractor questions, and technical assistance, helping ensure the development progressed smoothly from design to completion.

    For Jared, there’s no “I” in “Team”. During his tenure at OWN, Jared worked his way up from Design Engineer to Office Leader to Land Development Division Leader and was awarded the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE) Ozark Chapter Young Engineer of the Year Award for his dedication to bringing his clients’ visions to life on numerous projects throughout Missouri.
