Discovery Park Mixed-Use Development

Creating a bustling community hub for future residents and business owners

The growing population of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and its proximity to Kansas City has driven the need for accessible multi-family buildings and retail space. A tract of land became available from a well-known historic entity and the developer jumped on the opportunity for increased commercial and retail space.

Situated in a prime location near highway interchanges, multiple shopping centers, and suburban neighborhoods, the new 260+ acre mixed-use development will serve thousands of future residents and businesses. In the center, a prominent water feature will serve as a serene gathering space where visitors and residents can reflect, connect and explore.

The new development will make a lasting community impact for the City of Lee’s Summit and surrounding stakeholders.

Work on Phases 1 and 2 began in early 2024, with plans for additional zones to follow suit shortly after. Phase 1 is scheduled to open in 2026, just in time to accommodate an influx of visitors for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Kansas City.

With a multi-phase development such as this, our civil engineering team knew establishing clear goals, open lines of communication, and adhering to the project schedule were crucial to meeting the needs of the project.
